Sempra Honors Employees at NYSE Virtual Closing Bell Ceremony
On Thursday, Sept. 3, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) welcomed Sempra Energy’s Chairman and CEO, Jeff Martin, to virtually ring the closing bell in honor of employees from across the Sempra family of companies.
Martin was joined by seven employees from Sempra Energy and each of our operating companies. They represent our entire workforce working to provide essential energy to our communities – all through the pandemic.
“The areas where we operate – California, Texas, Louisiana and Mexico – have been hit hard by the pandemic, by wildfires in the West, and the recent hurricane along the Gulf Coast,” said Jeff Martin. “And through it all, I’ve seen so many of our employees displaying great leadership, great empathy and generosity to others, and an unwavering commitment to the health and safety of our communities – even under the most difficult circumstances.”
Through its #Gratitude campaign, the NYSE celebrates essential and critical workers who have responded to the COVID-19 crisis, such as medical professionals, workers who ensure our food supply, and now Sempra Energy – all of whom provide essential services to millions of consumers through the pandemic.
Sempra Energy's companies are leaders in their respective markets and have been providing essential services and operating critical energy infrastructure throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
