How can the U.S. realize its full potential as a natural gas exporting country and what is the road to access global markets? That was the question posed to Octávio Simões, president and CEO of Sempra LNG & Midstream, at this week’s North American Gas Forum in Washington, D.C.
The forum comes at a time when the U.S. is the world’s leading producer of natural gas and is projected to be the third-largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter in the world by 2020.
Sempra Energy is committed to the LNG business as part of its strategic work to build North America’s premier energy infrastructure company. Sempra Energy’s leadership team has been vocal in the company’s view that the U.S. is poised to seize an unprecedented opportunity to leverage the country’s abundant supply of natural gas to support allies around the world, contribute to cleaner air in developing and industrial nations, and create more American jobs.
As part of the coverage on the North American Gas Forum, Simões was interviewed by Energy Dialogues on Sempra LNG & Midstream’s strategic focus.
