Cameron LNG Liquefaction Project in Louisiana Progresses with Pipeline Expansion

Submitted by fp-admin on Mon, 08/28/2017 - 13:07

Sempra LNG & Midstream recently completed the $143 million Cameron Interstate Pipeline expansion, including the construction of the Holbrook Compressor Station and associated facilities in southwest Louisiana. This expansion adds bi-directional flow to the existing Cameron Interstate Pipeline so that natural gas can be transported from various interstate pipeline connections to the Cameron LNG liquefaction facility currently under construction in Hackberry, Louisiana.

When operations begin, the Cameron LNG facility will have the capacity to process 2.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas to be exported for global markets, including Asia and Europe. The project will create jobs, support local businesses, and provide the United States’ trading partners with clean natural gas.

“We are pleased to have completed this important project that will safely and reliably transport natural gas to the Cameron LNG liquefaction project for its export to worldwide markets while supporting the local and regional economy,” said Mike Gallagher, senior vice president of services and gas operations for Sempra LNG & Midstream.

The recent expansion also includes the construction of the new Cameron LNG meter station at the site of the liquefaction facility in Hackberry, Louisiana, and modifications to meter stations in Sulphur and Ragley, Louisiana.
