Traffic Advisory: Lane Closures on Benson Avenue in Chino October 13-15

WHAT: On Friday, Oct. 13 from 3 p.m. to Sunday, Oct. 15 at 10 p.m., SoCalGas will be modernizing the pipeline infrastructure on Benson Avenue in the City of Chino.

To perform this pipeline improvement project safely, Benson Avenue will be closed to traffic between McCully Street and Chino Avenue. Westbound traffic on Chino Avenue will not be able to make a left turn onto Benson Avenue, however traffic will be able to make a right turn onto Benson Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Chino Avenue will not be able to make a right turn onto Benson Avenue, however traffic will be able to make a left turn onto Benson Avenue. Traffic control officers and signs will help direct the flow of traffic.

No interruption to natural gas service is anticipated.

Customers may smell the odor of natural gas. Although this is normal when crews are working, SoCalGas encourages anyone who has concerns about the smell of gas to call us from a safe location at 1-800-427-2200. SoCalGas is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

NOTE: This effort is part of SoCalGas Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP), a multi-billion-dollar program that tests and updates the natural gas pipeline infrastructure in Southern California. SoCalGas’ five-year capital plan includes $6 billion in infrastructure investments, including approximately $1.2 billion this year for improvements to distribution, transmission and storage systems and for pipeline safety.
