Karen L. Sedgwick
Karen L. Sedgwick is vice president of audit services for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies' more than 16,000 employees serve approximately 32 million consumers worldwide.
In her current position, Sedgwick oversees the internal audit function for Sempra Energy and its affiliates.
Previously, Sedgwick was settlement officer and senior director of enterprise risk management for Sempra Energy. From 2007 to 2013, she served in several director positions in shared services supporting San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Co., including supply management, real estate and land services, and financial planning and analysis. Prior to that, Sedgwick spent six years as Sempra Energy’s director of investor relations. She began her career with the Sempra Energy companies in 1992 as an accounting coordinator at SDG&E.
Sedgwick serves on the boards of directors of The Old Globe, Make-A-Wish San Diego, and the Pacific Coast Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from San Diego State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of San Diego.
