Clean and efficient
This 600-MW power plant in the border region of Baja California, Mexico, is among the cleanest and most efficient in the world.

The plant use natural gas as a fuel source and features advanced air-emissions-reduction technologies.

Built to meet California standards
Most current power plants in Mexico use coal, fuel oil or a combination of these two fuels—all of which have much higher emission levels than natural gas. Sempra Generation decided to build this plant to meet California's tough air-emissions standards.

Conserving water
Sempra Generation also built an $18 million water-treatment plant to clean untreated sewage water for use as power-plant cooling water. This conserves valuable water resources.
