One of the cleanest in Nevada
This 480-megawatt (MW) natural gas-fueled power plant near Boulder City, Nev., south of Las Vegas, is one of the cleanest, most efficient, fossil-fueled power plants in Nevada. A 100-kilowatt (kW), solar-photovoltaic demonstration site next to the plant helps bring attention to this renewable-energy source.

Solar tracking
The use of solar tracking allows the generation of 20 percent more electricity per year.

Tree planting
Sempra Generation also funded the planting of more than 5,000 trees and shrubs to enhance the environment in the Boulder City area.
