NGVs at San Diego Transit

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has a strong and growing program to foster the use of compressed natural gas as a clean fuel for both public and private vehicles. SDG&E worked closely with the Metropolitan Transit Development Board (MTDB) in San Diego County, for instance, to add many more NGV buses to its fleet of about 700.

SDG&E urged the North County Transit District to obtain natural gas buses: NCTD has six such buses in operation and 27 more on order. SDG&E also helped create a network of 17 private and public natural gas-fueling stations in San Diego County, and four new public refueling stations are planned.
