Corporate Directors Forum honors Don Felsinger as Director of the Year

Earlier this year, the Corporate Directors Forum named Sempra Energy chairman and chief executive officer, Don Felsinger, 2007 Director of the Year in the category of Enhancement of Economic Value.

Each year, this award is given to a leader who has brought unique abilities or outside resources to the company, or who has developed creative applications of new resources to improve the company’s planning, operations and profitability.

Career snapshot
Felsinger, who began his career with the company at San Diego Gas & Electric in 1972, has been a key factor in the success, growth and profitability of every Sempra Energy company in which he has taken a leadership role. His foresight while leading SDG&E and its parent company, Enova, in the nineties help make the utility one of the most forward-thinking in the nation.

After transitioning to group president of Sempra Global, Felsinger led Sempra Energy’s expansion into competitive energy markets, helping to build successful businesses in power generation, energy-infrastructure development, energy trading and marketing, and liquefied natural gas development.

Now, Felsinger directs the strategic operations of all the Sempra Energy companies. The result has been superior shareholder returns. In fact in 2006, the company produced revenues of nearly $12 billion and expects record breaking profits for 2007.

Additional recognition
In 2006, Sempra Energy Board Member William D. Jones was given the award for Corporate Governance – an honor bestowed on a director who has been a leader in guiding the board and executive management in growing the company and maintaining ethics and conscience of the board to insure that everything is done properly.
