Carekids program: A safe haven for kids in need
Caroline Weiss CAREKIDS CARES: "I love my job and these kids," says Carekids' counselor Caroline Weiss. Carekids is a school-based service center that provides preventive care to more than 100 clients each year.

Louisiana governor on hand for
re-opening of community swimming pool
Hackberry Recreation Center MAKING A SPLASH: Kids at the Hackberry Recreation Center in Louisiana got back into the swim when the pool and center were rebuilt after damage from Hurricane Rita. Sempra Energy gave the center a contribution and underwrote a festival there.

Talk about making a splash.

Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco was on hand this past summer to see dozens of local kids get back into the swim of things at the re-opening of the swimming pool at the Hackberry Recreation Center in Hackberry, La.

Hackberry is the home of Sempra Energy's Cameron LNG liquefied natural gas (LNG) receipt terminal site. The site is about 20 percent complete and it's on schedule to go into operation in late 2008...
