Felsinger takes helm at Sempra Energy;

San Diego resident and energy executive Donald E. Felsinger formally took over as chairman and chief executive officer of Sempra Energy on Feb. 1, succeeding his long-time colleague Steve Baum.
Don Felsinger joined San
Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) in 1972, long before
Sempra Energy existed. Over the next two decades, he worked
through a range of manage- ment jobs at the utility until
he was named president and chief executive officer of SDG&E

in April.

Every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
MS is a chronic, often disabling, neurological disease that affects more than 250,000 people in the United States alone. Most of the time, the disease strikes adults ages 20-50, some- times sentencing them to wheelchairs and even death. MS has an impact on the friends and families of those with the disease as well.

Cross-border educational world-trade summit
will team students from San Diego and Mexico

In a first-of-its-kind effort, teams of students from San Diego and Baja California, Mexico, will take part this spring in a Regional International Economic Summit, an all-day conference that simulates world trade among nations.
Like a mini-United Nations, dozens of student teams will each represent a different country. They will have spent weeks getting ready for the event, researching their assigned country's economy, political structure, imports and exports, natural resources, infrastructure needs, and other strengths and weaknesses. These "economic advisers" will come to the event with specific strategies in mind...
