Who We Are

The Sempra Energy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation based in San Diego, California, USA.  The foundation was founded by Sempra Energy, a Fortune 250 energy services company that serves the largest customer base of any energy utility in the United States. With 13,500 employees worldwide, the Sempra Energy companies develop energy infrastructure, operate utilities, and provide related products and services to more than 29 million consumers worldwide.

Why We Exist

We were founded on the principle that we can help make a difference in the regions of the world where we do business.  The Sempra Energy companies have invested in local communities for well over a century, and we believe our growing global footprint provides a strong foundation for us to be more innovative in our partnerships with communities to produce sustainable and responsible change.
