Erbin B. Keith

Erbin B. Keith is vice president of regulatory affairs and chief compliance officer for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies’ 13,600 employees serve more than 24 million consumers worldwide.

In this role, Keith is responsible for managing regulatory affairs for Sempra Energy, as well as regulatory compliance and corporate ethics programs.

Previously, Keith was president of Sempra Energy’s operations offering commercial and industrial businesses energy outsourcing services.

Before joining Sempra in 1998, Keith was a senior vice president and general counsel for the Way Companies, and, prior to that, served as an attorney in private practice in Texas.

Keith is a licensed professional engineer and a licensed attorney in both Texas and California. He is a member of the Texas and California state bars.

Keith was selected as "Energy Professional of the Year" in 2001 by the Association of Energy Engineers, and was appointed to the Department of Energy’s first Federal Energy Management Advisory Committee that was established by President Clinton in 2000.

Keith holds a law degree from South Texas College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas.
