Scott B. Crider
Vice President - Federal Government Affairs
Scott B. Crider is vice president of federal government affairs for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies’ nearly 17,000 employees serve more than 31 million consumers worldwide.
In his current role, Crider oversees the company’s office in Washington, D.C., where he leads engagement and advocacy efforts with federal policymakers and regulatory agencies.
Previously, Crider served as director of external affairs for Sempra U.S. Gas & Power where he was responsible for government relations, regulatory affairs, policy analysis and communications for one of the largest renewable energy developers in the nation. He has also served as director of issues management and environmental communications at Sempra Energy where he led the company’s sustainability policy development and reporting functions.
Prior to joining the Sempra Energy companies in 2002, Crider managed political campaigns and held leadership positions working for elected officials in the California State Legislature and San Diego City Council.
Crider has most recently served on the board of directors for the California Independent Energy Producers Association. He has a bachelor’s degree in law and society from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
