Randall L. Clark
Vice President – Human Resources Services
Randall L. Clark is vice president of human resources services for Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies' 17,000 employees serve more than 32 million consumers worldwide.
In this role, he oversees compensation and benefits, human resources information technology, corporate security, shareholder engagement on compensation related issues and serves as the executive liaison to the compensation committee of Sempra Energy’s board of directors.
Previously, Clark was vice president of compliance and governance and corporate secretary for Sempra Energy, where he acted as chief governance officer and corporate secretary and directed and oversaw the company’s compliance programs worldwide.
From 2012 to 2014, he served as vice president of corporate responsibility and corporate secretary for Sempra Energy. Prior to that, Clark was vice president of corporate relations and corporate secretary for Sempra Energy.
Clark joined Sempra Energy in 2000 as a managing attorney with Sempra Energy, where he managed legal issues related to domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, development projects and international legal issues. In addition, he was principally responsible for corporate governance and corporate structuring matters for Sempra Energy subsidiaries.
Previously, he was an attorney with the law firm of Cooley Godward LLP, focusing on corporate and securities matters, including: corporate formations, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, venture financing, joint ventures, initial public offerings and general business counseling for both public and private companies. He began his career as a corporate attorney with Morrison & Foerster, LLP.
Clark is a member of several bar associations and also serves on the board of directors of the Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals.
He graduated with honors from Duke University’s School of Law with an emphasis in international and comparative law. He also holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Pepperdine University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
