Randall B. Peterson

Vice President – Corporate Compliance

Randy Peterson is vice president of corporate compliance at Sempra Energy, a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. The Sempra Energy companies’ nearly 17,000 employees serve more than 31 million consumers worldwide.

In this role, Peterson directs the company’s ethics and compliance programs worldwide.

Previously, Peterson was vice president of finance at Sempra U.S. Gas & Power where he was responsible for accounting, information technology and human resources. Peterson has served in a number of executive roles since joining Sempra Energy in 1984.

Prior to joining Sempra Energy, Peterson was an audit manager with a predecessor to the accounting firm Ernst & Young. He holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, where he currently serves on the advisory board to the School of Accounting. Peterson is certified as a public accountant, management accountant and internal auditor.
